Iowa Barnstormers @ Pittsburgh Power Preview

Our very own Iowa Barnstormers face off against the Pittsburgh Power tomorrow - let's see what we have going.

OFFENSE

Power:

The Power have had an unusual year on offense. After the debacle that was their opening game, featuring replacement players on both sides and some shady dealings on the part of the Power, they haven't had a great offense performance.

Iowa:

The Barnstormers are coming off an extremely rough week. Offensively, they kept up with the Rush, manhandling them in the first half and not letting themselves get buried as the tanks ran out. The challenge - performing in a hostile arena.

ADVANTAGE - Iowa

DEFENSE

Power:

The Power are first in the league in pass defense, but have yet to prove that their stats are more than an inflated result of their first game.

Iowa:

The Barnstormer defense was an enthusiastic performer in what was a very lackluster second half against Chicago. They need to make turnovers happen in the clutch if they want to secure their second victory. (Spokane in week 1? Clutch turnover, take home the win.)

ADVANTAGE - Power

SPECIAL TEAMS

Power:

Pittsburgh hasn't been explosive on special teams yet this year, the highlight being a single blocked kick.

Iowa:

Apparently the Barnstormer special teams unit is going to be a hot cold affair, showing absolutely no life in an abysmal performance against the rush.

ADVANTAGE - PUSH

OVERALL

Power:

The Power are on a two game free fall after dropping their starting QB before the first game, and aren't looking like they're going to recover.
Iowa:

The Barnstormers are coming off an embarrassing two game home skid, and look to attempt to recover some dignity on the road.

ADVANTAGE - Push

Prediction - Should the Barnstormers win this game? Yes. Will the Barnstormers win this game? I'm not so sure I trust them. Short week, away game, no momentum, all adds up to bad news bears.
